Currumbin Valley

Hillview Dairy

$449 per night

Hillview Dairy is a rustic, country-inspired hideaway nestled in the Currumbin Valley. It’s a dog friendly, off grid experience but still close enough to town if needed. When I opened the barn doors, my eyes lit up. Simone has created a beautiful airbnb from an old dairy and you can tell she put a lot of love in it. Hillview has a fully equipped kitchen (cutest smeg appliances!), two bedrooms, one of the cutest bathrooms I’ve seen and a veranda with a plunge pool looking out to the mountains. My favourite thing was waking up with the sun, listening to the birds and watching the horses go by. Photos don’t do this place justice, it is truly magical.

Magnetic Island

This stay is located on Magnetic Island which is located off Townsville in Tropical North Queensland. A one of a kind a-frame nestled in Horseshoe Bay. Giving off those bohemian vibes, exposed timber beams, modern bathroom, full kitchen, washing machine and aircon! There are two rooms to choose from, one of them being a dreamy loft with hanging lights. The a-frame is fully equiped with everything you need. There is so much to do on the Island. You can bring your car over from the mainland, take the bus, hire a scooter (fav) or a topless car. After a big day exploring the island, the a-frame is the perfect space to come back to. The hammock is my favourite touch and makes the perfect reading nook!

Beechmont Estate is a country getaway that sprawls across 75 acres of picturesque hinterland. It is located on the outskirts of the Beechmont township, near Binna Burra in the Scenic Rim. It’s only a 90 minute drive from Brisbane and 45 minutes from the Gold Coast which makes it the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle.

✧ ✧ ✧

At the heart of Beechmont Estate lies The Paddock Restaurant which is surrounded by the cabins and luxury pavilions. Additionally, the club house offers a charming setting with a private boardroom, dining area and yoga/gym facilities. Sustainability and Food

One of the highlights of this stay was definitely the food. The chefs create amazing dishes that are fresh and bursting with flavours. They draw inspiration from the seasons, abundant wild flora, and locally farmed produce. The aim is to provide an authentic paddock-to-plate experience, highlighting some of the best ingredients available in South East Queensland. The team utilises creative techniques such as smoking, curing, and fermentation to minimise food waste, ensuring that no produce goes to waste. Any leftovers are returned to their compost pile.

Gourmet Experiences

Picnic Hamper

For lunch we had a beautiful picnic hamper made by the amazing in house chefs. They handpick a variety of fresh, seasonal produce, cheese, cured meats, and sandwiches for you to enjoy. We decided to stay on the property but you can take it on your adventures in the national park.

✧ ✧ ✧

Wine and Cheese Tasting

Around 4pm we had a beautiful wine and cheese tasting at the Paddock Restaurant. I highly recommend trying this experience, the cheeses were incredibly delicious. The Australian wines paired perfectly with the creamy textures and bold flavors of the local cheeses. The informative staff enriched the tasting with insights that deepened our admiration for the excellent craftsmanship behind each choice.
